With more than two decades of experience in community development, planning, and zoning, Amy’s servant leadership style yields sincere communication, effective organization, and practical implementation strategies. Amy is experienced in all components of community and economic development including public/stakeholder engagement, strategic and longterm planning, regulatory compliance, project development and management, and grant writing/administration. Amy’s been a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) since 2001 and presented on User Friendly Zoning Ordinances at an Indiana Planning Association conference. Amy’s in the process of renewing her CDBG Administrator’s license (previously licensed in 2006) with the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
After developing an appreciation for the community and built environment of her hometown, Amber earned a bachelor’s degree in urban planning and development. Amber spent 6 years working in the public sector after obtaining her degree. Her experience includes creating plans (comprehensive, park and recreation, downtown); authoring grants;
After developing an appreciation for the community and built environment of her hometown, Amber earned a bachelor’s degree in urban planning and development. Amber spent 6 years working in the public sector after obtaining her degree. Her experience includes creating plans (comprehensive, park and recreation, downtown); authoring grants; managing community data through ArcMap; creating graphics in Adobe Creative Suite and Trimble SketchUp; and administering and amending local ordinances. Amber is an advocate for collaboration and finding the voice of the community to achieve healthy growth. Amber believes the heart of a community is unique and should be celebrated in every aspect from festivals and events to development and standards.
